Hey everyone! I'm 7 months old! I smile a lot - except when I'm hungry or tired, then I scream a lot - and I flirt a lot. I can pick up toys, and I recently learned to roll over from my tummy to my back. My balance is getting better and soon I'll be sitting up! Doesn't all this sound like fun?
Pretty soon, I'll be mobile and when that happens, Mommy will completely loose track of her sanity. Won't that be a big truck load of awesome?! :)
I'm going to go plot out just how I'll finish making my family insane now. You enjoy this glorious day, OK?

Half a Year Already!
Yesterday, I turned .5 years old (also known as 6 months). To celebrate it, my Mommy took me to the doctor where they attacked me! They successfully stabbed my legs twice on each! :(
I think I'll try to remember to hang out with Daddy when I turn 7 months old. :)
Aside from the vicious assault, I'm doing well, even though I'm still a little peanut. The doctor said I can have some solid foods now and I'm looking forward to the yummy things I see the rest of my family happily consuming.
I'm still working on learning how to roll over and sit up, but I understand that it takes a while to learn how to perform such complex actions. :) I'll keep working on it.

5 Months old!
Today, I am 5 months old. Yay! If you're really lucky, I may grace you with a large, happy smile that will show you where all my teeth will come in as well as my cute dimples. :)
I'm still working on giggling. It's sometimes a little tricky to remember to continue making the cute noises. :)
Now, I just need to learn how to roll over, and sit up. Wish me luck!

Day 90 - Scary Baby!
Dear Matthew,
I decided to put you on your play mat this morning, and when you saw the baby in the mirror, you just grinned and grinned!
But then, something startled you. You stuck out your lower lip, and it started to tremble, and the baby in the mirror did the same thing!
Poor Matthew! I have never seen you so sad! You kept staring at the baby in the mirror and getting more and more upset because the baby in the mirror was getting more and more upset. I couldn't help but laugh!
It took a bit of work, but I finally got you to smile again while you were looking in the mirror. You were adorable as you began kicking and cooing away at your new found friend.
You are such a funny little boy!
Love, Mommy

Day 65 - Mr. Uncooperative
Dear Matthew,
The stars seemed to be aligned correctly. You weren't fussy, Daddy was even able to lull you to sleep. Mommy wasn't exhausted, and there was clean counter space available.
All we wanted was a simple hand print or footprint, captured in plaster forever.
Let's just say this evening was a disaster. I'm simply going to have to buy another kit and try again. Or hire a professional.
No worries though... you are still very much loved.

Day 61 - 2 Months Old & Baby Blessing
Dear Matthew,
Today you are officially 2-months old. Bad news, little man... 2-months old means it's time for immunizations. I'm not looking forward to it, but it's a necessary evil. Let's not dwell on it and simply move on to happier subjects.
Today was also the day of your Baby Blessing. Your Great-Grandpa blessed you which made today even more special. Your Great-Grandpa is 94 years old, and he has never had the opportunity to bless a baby before. I know he worried about doing things correctly, but I think he did a wonderful job. I love my Grandpa and I know he loves our family very much. I hope you have the opportunity to make many more memories with him.
Your Daddy came to church today, also. It's not something he particularly likes doing, but he got to participate in that he could hold you up after your blessing so that the entire congregation could see you. And he held you so high, well, there's no doubt in my mind that even the very back row got a good look at you. Your Daddy is so proud of you and loves you so much.
Speaking of Daddy, he is still waiting for you to smile at him. How about it? Just a little grin, that's all it would take to send him to Cloud 9 for a few days.
I love you, little man. You were blessed with so many wonderful things... there is no doubt in my mind that you will bring us, your parents, much joy during the coming years.
God bless you.

Day 28 - Four Weeks Old
Dear Matthew,
Today you are 4-weeks old. Time flies when you are having fun, and we are definitely having fun.
Today is also your due date. It is highly unlikely that you would have been born on your due date simply because Mommy was supposed to have a scheduled c-section, and most likely it would've been scheduled about a week ago. But still, I find it strange that we've finally reached your due date but you are already 4-weeks old. It just boggles my mind.
We went to see your pediatrician today for a weight check. You now weigh a hefty 6 pounds, 15 ounces and are in the 3rd percentile for your weight. That basically means that out of 100 babies who are your age, 97 of them will weigh more than you. Yep, you're a tiny little guy, but I know you will catch up in due time. Your doctor did say that if you were born today, your weight would put you at the 50th percentile. In other words, you're right on target if we use your gestational age! But alas, that's not how it works, so 3rd percentile it is. Don't worry, you won't be there long, I just know it!
That being said, I am glad to see that you are growing and getting stronger, but a small part of me is a little bit sad, because, well, I just want you to stay little! I love snuggling and cuddling you, and I just know that no matter how much I treasure every little moment with you, this time is fleeting and it will be over far too soon. I know that there are many wonderful adventures awaiting us, but right now I just want you to stay my teeny-tiny little baby.
In other news, I asked your pediatrician if you could still use your SnuggleMe blanket since it causes you to sleep for 4 or 5 hours at a time, and she said it was fine! Lucky us! I think our family will be a whole lot happier with all of the extra sleep we will be getting now. You just need to keep eating every 2-3 hours during the day so you keep gaining weight like the doctor wants you to. And all things considered, I guess I want you to keep growing too. It's what healthy babies do, and ultimately that's what I want. A beautiful, happy, healthy baby... just like you!
I'm lovin' you so much, little one! Can't wait to see what the next 4-weeks holds in store for us!
